This position will provide an exciting and diverse opportunity to coordinate the dissemination and communication of EU funded research efforts, while also supporting project managers across a number of Halpin and NMCI research outputs. The successful candidate will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team in an environment committed to contributing national efforts in building a strong and sustainable maritime sector, supporting the development of communications strategies, maintaining digital media content, managing social media outputs, and various other EU funded research themed communication functions.
The Halpin Research Group is the Research and Innovation pillar of the National Maritime College of Ireland, and constituent college of the Munster Technological University. Our core objective is to support the development of a vibrant and dynamic maritime sector, capable of realising its full potential in contributing to the sustainable economic, social and environmental development of the island of Ireland and that of our international partners, for the benefit of all. We focus on 4 key thematic areas; Safety, Security and Defence, Learning development, maritime mechatronic engineering, Blue Growth. The centre is active in projects across a variety of funding programmes including H2020, ERASMUS +, EMFF and the European Territorial Cooperation Programme (Interreg). Our contexts are diverse and far reaching, ranging from supporting the individual seafarer, early stage technology development, to global scale challenges such as security and emergency management in the Arctic, Circular Economy, and Climate Change.
